A Meditation on the Anti-Trump Rally in NYC

A Meditation on the Anti-Trump Rally in NYC

by Anjelica Jardiel

If this is what it takes to for ALL of us to stand up and fight for what’s right, I am filled with gratitude.

I am grateful to live in a country where we can organize and mobilize peacefully to incite change.

I am grateful to inhabit a city with people who fight for the dignity and equal rights of all human beings.

I am grateful to have grown up in a town where I never felt discriminated against or undervalued for my brown skin.

I am grateful to have a body and a voice to stand up for what I believe in.

I am grateful to be part of a generation who understands that love is love and humans are humans.  We are all the same under our differences.

I am grateful to be a woman.

On November 9th at 6pm, we gathered together in Union Square and marched up to Trump Tower on 57th and 5th.  We aren’t just going to sit back and accept this.

Now is the time for us to speak out for our lives, the lives of those around us, and the lives of future generations.  Now more than ever, we need to use our talents to raise awareness and change the world.

We are 100% stronger together.
